About Me
I’m a former certified secondary education teacher who switched careers in 2007 when I delved into designing elearning courses.
I have extensive experience designing online courses, because I’EEve been creating them since 2007. It’s quite normal for me to be working with engineers, programmers & web app architects in order to translate their esoteric explanations into layman’s terms. I’ve also trained other instructors to go through the whole process of creating online courses, from creating storyboards, recording, editing, and checking for quality before putting it up live.
I design self-paced, semi-moderated, and highly moderated LIVE online courses (real-time participation learning). I’ve created courses for different devices, from laptops & desktops to mobile platforms (smartphones, tablets), so that optimal learning can take place even with limited real-estate screen space.
Work Experience
Senior Instructional Designer
Metrodigi Inc. (2015 – Current)
- Design interactive widgets for online learning platforms and for ePubs.
- Under the agile process, analyze UI/UX wireframes & make amends to the interactive widgets for optimal user experience based on user feedback.
- Verify that the final interactive widgets engineering team created would:
- be organized in a streamlined way to tell a story,
- alleviate cognitive load of the learner,
- and enhance motivation.
- Use JIRA Agile board to add issues, amendments, and track changes of interactive widgets.
- Design assessment (formative and summative) interactive for clients to:
- test learner’s knowledge of concept,
- measure the level of skill acquisition.
- Working with developers & production team to determine:
- where to allocate resources to achieve the most cost-efficient yet effective outcome.
Instructional Designer/ Director of Curriculum
Socrates Education Institute (2007 – 2015)
- Create & designed instructional systems in SAT.crammers.net & www.Crammers.net from beginning to end.
- With engineers & technicians, created & designed a learning system for SAT & K-12 subjects that is highly interactive online system
- Created & designed from start to finish self-paced online course curriculum that involves instructional videos, quizzes, flashcard, and various eLearning tools (timed tests, check-for-understanding activities, progress feedback system, etc.)
- Created & designed curriculum for LIVE classroom that has a shared whiteboard system, shared notes system, snapshots, chat, etc).
- Created various programs that cater to different needs of the students.
- Wrote the curriculum for other teachers to follow through with their students.
